John Bayley HG. Dip.P MHGI
John's background was primarily in Education. After training as a teacher, he taught across all age groups before taking up a post as Deputy Principal at the International School of Helsinki. After returning to England he was Headteacher of a school in Dorset for eight years.
He went on to manage an innovative mentoring project based at a prison in Dorset, working with young men being released from custody to Dorset, Hampshire and London. After recruiting and training volunteers from their communities, mentors worked for periods of up to a year with their mentees, supported and supervised by John and his staff. The success of the project was recognised by a prestigious Butler Trust award.
It was during this period that John came across the Human Givens approach to assisting people who were suffering from various forms of emotional distress. Working closely with young men, many of whom had suffered, or were suffering from, depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, anger, addictions and compulsive behaviour, he saw the immediate efficacy of the approach.
After studying and qualifying through the Human Givens Institute, he continues to work in two local prisons as well as having a private practice.
